This Bucks, Beds and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust reserve (BBOWT) has been created in a disused chalk pit near to Tring. The group has over the year been many times to the site assisting with tree planting, bird hide building, step construction, hedge planting, footpath building. This is a popular site and not just for the great place for tea and cakes.

In November 2006 we were asked to clear the bank alongside the trail to create a better habitat for the Duke of Burgundy butterfly. Here are Chris, Mike and John getting to work to clear the hawthorn.

Here is the hawthorn laying awaiting collection.

We continued work further along the trail where larger bushes needed to be controlled.

Here are John, Mike and Chris with a reduced hawthorn.
