Hemel Hempstead Conservation Volunteers is a voluntary group working on hands-on nature conservation. We work with a number of local conservation and “Friends of…” groups to lend our expertise and skills to local conservation projects. Because we aren’t tied to a single piece of land, we have the freedom to work on a variety of projects in multiple locations, working on hands-on nature conservation throughout West Herts and beyond.

Our projects vary greatly, but always improve the local environment in some way. The work includes pond restoration, scrub clearance, tree planting, hedge laying, and footpath work - all vital contributions to the conservation of our countryside. We give nature a helping hand by creating and maintaining native plant and animal habitats. We also maintain the beauty of our countryside. The group goes out on alternating Sundays. Saturday and Tuesday projects are also scheduled.

HHCV works on conservation projects throughout Dacorum and West Herts as well as parts of Beds and Bucks. This includes Hemel Hempstead, St. Albans, Tring, Berkhamsted, Kings Langley, Harpenden, Wendover (Dancer's End), Aston Clinton, Welwyn Garden City, Frithsden, Whelpley Hill, Abbots Langley, Redbourn, and Amersham (Chalfont St. Giles).
